Process of Energy Healing for Horses

As I mentioned in the About Me section, my energy healing ability developed out of love and necessity — to support my horse, Billy, during his injury. I believe unconditional love was one of the most important factors in unlocking this capability.

In the beginning, it felt like I was using my own energy to help him heal. But over time, I intuitively learned to create a coherent energy field, where both Billy and I were connected and balanced. This shared energy space became the foundation of our healing sessions.

The Energy Healing Process: How It Begins

The first step is always to quiet my mind. When I am calm, Billy becomes calm too. It feels like we are meditating together, entering a shared space of trust and presence.

I then use my palms to sense where Billy feels discomfort. He often signals the spot by blinking his eyes. I stop there, keeping my palm a few centimeters away from his body, and start moving it slowly in a spiral motion.

After a few moments, I begin to feel an energy cloud forming between my hand and his body. When I move this energy gently in a spiral, Billy responds — sometimes his breathing becomes deep and slow, reaching all the way to his dantian (lower abdomen). His belly inflates and deflates like a ball, and I know he has entered self-healing mode.

Sometimes, Billy steps away to let me know, “That’s enough, I’ll take care of the rest.” His self-healing may last a few minutes or up to 20 minutes. When he’s done, he releases tension through deep yawns, chewing, rubbing his legs, snorting, or other signs of relaxation.

Only when he is ready, I continue working on another area. This back-and-forth communication is an essential part of the process.

How We Communicate During Healing

Billy and I have developed a silent language. Sometimes I sense discomfort through heat, tingling, or an electric feeling in my palms. Other times, Billy gives me a look that says, “Here!” — or even scratches or bites at the spot himself.

For very sensitive areas, he sometimes won’t allow me to touch. In those moments, I do distance healing — using intention and visualization. Once, when he completely blocked me from touching, I focused on that area mentally and visualized a spiral movement. Billy looked at me as if saying, “What just happened?”

Respecting His Process

Some deep releases take time. If I interrupt too early, Billy signals “not yet” by lifting his front leg impatiently. He may need to move around to complete his release, which is why I never tie him during sessions. If chewing helps him release tension, I offer a small amount of food — but only for this purpose, never as a distraction. Interestingly, he knows the difference.

Mindfulness in Everyday Care

Today, we don’t do full energy healing sessions daily, but the practice continues in subtle ways. Even brushing Billy has become an energy connection ritual. I keep myself quiet and mindful, avoiding idle chatter with stablemates. This way, I can feel if he needs extra care.

Brushing is healing. Every horse owner can do this. The first step? Learn how to listen to your horse. They are always trying to communicate with us. When we slow down and pay attention, we discover a whole new level of connection and understanding.
